Engineering Manager, Information Security

Role overview

The Engineering Manager leads the Information Security function for a B2B real estate technology platform that powers digital home closings for millions of consumers each year. This player/coach role reports to the Head of Information Security and pairs people leadership with hands-on technical work across detection, incident response, and security automation. The mission is to protect what is often the largest financial transaction of users' lives while enabling the business to grow.

Responsibilities

- Lead, coach, and grow a team of security engineers, setting priorities and owning delivery against the security roadmap - Own detection and response end-to-end: define baseline behavior across products, customers, employees, and assets, build and tune detection logic, and drive down time to identify and contain deviations - Serve as incident commander during security events, coordinating cross-team investigation and containment, communicating clearly under pressure, and feeding post-incident learnings back into detections and hardening - Triage and resolve escalated customer-reported security concerns, including suspected fraud and account compromise, and communicate clearly with affected parties - Scale the team through automation and AI-assisted workflows spanning triage, investigation, and response so impact grows without linear headcount growth - Strengthen cloud and corporate security posture across identity, endpoints, and SaaS, and partner with Application Security, IT, Engineering, Legal, and Compliance to embed security into how products are built

Requirements

- Experience managing security engineers, including setting direction, coaching, and owning roadmap delivery - Hands-on background in detection engineering, incident response, and security operations - Strong communication skills for briefing executives, engineers, auditors, and customers under pressure - Working knowledge of cloud and corporate security across identity, endpoints, and SaaS configurations - Track record of using automation and AI-assisted tooling to expand team capacity - Pragmatic, business-first judgment that balances protection with product velocity

- Experience representing a security function to external stakeholders such as auditors and enterprise customers - Background operating in cross-functional environments where security touches every product team
