Engineering Manager, Information Security
Job details
About this role
Role overview
This Engineering Manager role leads the Information Security team for a B2B digital closing platform that supports real estate transactions, where purchasing a home is often a user's largest financial transaction and the stakes for getting security right are real. It is a player-coach position reporting to the Head of Information Security, balancing team leadership with hands-on technical work. The mandate centers on scaling team impact faster than headcount by making automation and AI-assisted workflows the default across detection, triage, investigation, and response.
Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Information Security team, coaching engineers, setting direction, and supporting their development - Define what "normal" looks like across products, customers, employees, and assets, and own detection and response when something deviates from that baseline - Scale impact through automation and AI-assisted workflows across the detection, triage, investigation, and response lifecycle - Stay hands-on enough to review detections, step into incidents, and ship automations personally - Represent security to engineering leaders, auditors, and customers, communicating risk in clear business terms
Requirements
- Experience managing security engineering teams in a player-coach capacity - Background in detection engineering, incident response, and defining behavioral baselines across complex environments - Comfort moving between deep technical work and executive-level risk communication - Pragmatic, business-first judgment that protects the company without standing in the way of its growth - Growth mindset suited to evolving threats and increasingly sophisticated adversaries
Nice to have
- Experience designing or scaling AI-augmented detection and response workflows
