Principal Technical Delivery Readiness Manager, Advanced Services (Professional Services) - UK
Job details
About this role
Role overview A Principal-level role within an Advanced Services organisation, focused on building the foundation for scalable, repeatable platform services tied to product releases. The position acts as the bridge between product engineering and delivery teams, ensuring every product capability is operationally ready before release and that service frameworks can be deployed consistently at global scale. It combines strategic thinking, hands-on engineering influence, and leadership of a small team of platform services engineers.
Responsibilities - Define the delivery readiness framework, service standards, SLAs, and operational documentation that gate global releases - Partner with product engineering to operationalise new platform capabilities and translate them into repeatable service offerings - Build automation, tooling, runbooks, and standard procedures to reduce manual effort and improve consistency - Lead continuous improvement using a structured methodology (for example, Six Sigma-style), with a strong emphasis on AI-driven automation - Manage a Services Engineering Lab and run ongoing software release impact assessments - Lead platform services engineers, run program governance, and serve as the technical SME for a wider Implementation Center of Excellence
Requirements - Significant experience in product engineering, infrastructure, or cloud environments - Solid understanding of product lifecycle and operational service design - Track record of building automation and standardised operational processes - Familiarity with enterprise products spanning storage, cloud, virtualisation, or networking - Hands-on experience with scripting and automation tools such as Terraform, Python, and CI/CD pipelines - Ability to design scalable, repeatable service models rather than one-off solutions, with strong documentation and version-control discipline
Nice to have - Knowledge or experience applying continuous-improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first working arrangement - Time-off flexibility, wellness resources, and company-sponsored team events - A culture that emphasises innovation, professional growth, and collaboration
