Senior IT Architect

Role overview A senior architect role focused on shaping and delivering enterprise-scale systems built primarily on the Microsoft technology stack. The position blends hands-on coding with architectural decision-making, partnering with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to design, build, modernize, and support complex applications and integrations. It suits an experienced engineer who wants to remain close to the code while guiding technical direction on mission-critical systems in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities - Contribute to solution architecture across application, integration, data, and infrastructure layers within a Microsoft-centric ecosystem - Design scalable, secure, and resilient systems using patterns such as layered architecture, domain-driven design, event-driven, and service-oriented approaches - Write, review, and optimize production-grade code in C#, .NET, ASP.NET, and related frameworks - Architect and build APIs and integrations using REST, messaging, and event-based patterns, primarily on Microsoft Azure - Translate business requirements into robust technical solutions and provide technical guidance to developers - Produce clear architecture diagrams, design documentation, and operational guidance

Requirements - 7+ years of progressive experience in software engineering, system design, and application architecture - Deep expertise in C#, .NET / .NET Core, ASP.NET, Web APIs, and SQL Server - Proven track record acting as both architect and senior developer on large, complex, mission-critical systems - Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure compute, storage, messaging, and integration services - Strong skills in diagnosing high-complexity technical problems and producing sound design decisions under delivery pressure - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to have - Experience modernizing or integrating with legacy platforms - Background in data conversion or large-scale system migrations - Prior work in highly regulated or data-intensive enterprise environments, such as insurance or financial services
