Role overview A research platform that connects AI developers with a global pool of human participants is recruiting fluent Japanese speakers based in the Washington, DC area for a flexible, task-based AI training role. Participants join live video conversations with other Japanese speakers, and those natural dialogues are recorded to help train the next generation of AI language models. The work is fully remote, scheduled task by task, with no fixed hours or minimum commitment.
Responsibilities - Take part in live, natural video conversations in Japanese with other participants. - Discuss everyday topics in a relaxed, unscripted way so that the dialogue reflects how people really speak. - Allow your conversations to be recorded and used as training data for AI models learning natural speech, tone, and cultural nuance. - Complete a short language assessment before joining the talent pool in order to qualify for paid projects. - Review each available task, including details, time estimate, and pay, before deciding whether to accept it.
Requirements - Full fluency in Japanese, with the ability to hold a natural, flowing conversation over video call. - Working fluency in English, sufficient to read instructions and report on tasks. - Comfort chatting easily with new people and keeping conversation flowing in a remote video setting. - A quiet environment plus a good-quality headset and microphone for clear audio capture. - Friendly, easygoing interpersonal style, with prior experience in teaching, interpreting, customer service, or linguistics considered a plus.
Benefits and work setup Work is fully remote and task-based, with flexible scheduling and no minimum hours requirement. Approved tasks pay up to around $18 per hour, and passing the initial assessment can unlock similar paid projects in the future.
