Role overview

A remote, pay-per-task opportunity for fluent Japanese speakers who want to help shape how AI models understand real conversation. Participants are paired with other Japanese speakers for live video chats about everyday subjects, and the resulting recordings are used to train AI on the natural rhythm, intonation, and cultural texture of spoken Japanese. Work is flexible and self-directed, with no set shifts or minimum hours.

Responsibilities

- Hold natural, unscripted Japanese conversations on video with another participant, covering ordinary topics.

- Permit each session to be recorded so it can be reviewed and used to train AI on authentic conversational speech.

- Complete a short fluency assessment as part of joining the talent pool.

- Review each posted task for its time estimate, requirements, and pay before choosing to participate.

Requirements

- Strong fluency in Japanese with the ability to engage easily in casual, real-world conversation.

- Adequate English for following task instructions and completing any required reporting.

- Comfort talking on camera with strangers in an open, unscripted format.

- A quiet room, reliable computer, stable internet connection, and a good headset plus microphone so audio is recorded clearly.

- A friendly, relaxed communication style suitable for chatting with new people.

Nice to have

- Experience in teaching, interpreting, customer service, or linguistics is considered a plus.
