Role overview
This role supports the development of conversational AI by engaging fluent Bengali speakers in natural, unscripted video conversations. Participants join live calls with other Bengali speakers to discuss everyday topics, with their dialogue recorded as training data for machine learning systems. The work is task-based and fully remote, offering a flexible way to contribute language expertise to AI research without a fixed schedule.
Responsibilities
- Join live video calls with other Bengali-speaking participants and hold natural, flowing conversations on everyday topics. - Speak in an unscripted, conversational manner without rehearsed lines or performance, allowing dialogue to develop organically. - Contribute recorded speech data that helps AI systems learn natural patterns in tone, pacing, vocabulary, and cultural expression. - Complete an initial language assessment to verify fluency before accessing paid task postings. - Review each available task, including estimated time and pay, before deciding whether to participate. - Ensure audio quality by working from a quiet environment with reliable headphones and a clear microphone.
Requirements
- Full fluency in Bengali, with the ability to converse naturally and comfortably on a wide range of everyday subjects. - Working proficiency in English sufficient for following task instructions and reporting. - Comfort speaking on camera and holding extended conversation with previously unknown participants. - A quiet workspace and good-quality audio equipment (headphones and microphone) suitable for clean recording. - Friendly, easygoing communication style and willingness to engage with strangers over video. - Reliable home internet connection capable of supporting stable video calls.

- Prior experience in teaching, interpreting, customer service, journalism, or linguistics. - Curiosity about conversational AI, natural language processing, or speech data collection. - Experience participating in remote research studies or human data projects.
