AI Engineer/ML Engineer - Senior Developers - AI Training - UK

Role overview A senior contract opportunity for experienced AI and machine learning engineers to train and evaluate large language models through focused, paid technical tasks. Successful applicants join an expert contributor network and work on one-hour sessions drawing on production-grade ML knowledge. Responsibilities - Critique AI-generated explanations of model architectures, loss functions, and backpropagation for technical correctness - Review ML-specific code, including training loops, preprocessing scripts, and evaluation notebooks - Deliver the high-quality human feedback that improves RLHF-driven alignment with intent, safety, and helpfulness - Stress-test AI reasoning on complex chain-of-thought prompts and flag breakdown points - Carry out comparative benchmarking of model outputs against defined technical taxonomies and performance metrics

Requirements - Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or a related quantitative ML-focused discipline - Proven production experience building, deploying, or fine-tuning ML models - Deep understanding of neural network architectures (Transformers, CNNs, RNNs) and optimization techniques - Hands-on experience with prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, or RLHF workflows - Skill in auditing complex model logic, detecting training-data contamination, and evaluating mathematical proofs behind ML algorithms - Strong analytical eye for hallucinations, biased outputs, and logical failures in AI-generated content

Nice to have - Expert proficiency with PyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras - Advanced Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn) plus Hugging Face Transformers experience - Exposure to AWS SageMaker, Google Cloud Vertex AI, Weights & Biases, or LangChain - Working knowledge of Pinecone, Milvus, or Weaviate for RAG evaluation
