About this role
Role overview A customer-facing technical support role for a combined portfolio of Python-based orchestration and data platform products, handling the shared support queue and resolving issues in customer environments. The position is built around diagnosing real failures in real deployments, owning each issue to resolution, and turning patterns into documentation, tooling, and product feedback that prevent the next one.
Responsibilities - Diagnose problems across installations, integrations, deployments, and the cloud and container environments they run in, finding the underlying "why" rather than patching symptoms. - Take ownership of root causes inside the products' domain of control and, where issues fall outside that scope, give a clear, principled answer that still leaves the customer a way forward. - Back every diagnosis with evidence and logic, and ask customers for the information needed to troubleshoot both sides of an issue. - Stay the customer's single point of contact during escalations, providing updates on a regular cadence and closing the loop. - File reproducible product issues and surface recurring failure patterns to Engineering and Product. - Contribute to documentation, debugging resources, and internal tooling that reduce repeat submissions.
Requirements - Python fluency at the level of reading and debugging someone else's code, not only writing your own. - Hands-on experience running workloads in at least one major cloud and in containers or Kubernetes, enough to troubleshoot a deployment you did not build. - Experience with a workflow orchestrator (such as Airflow or comparable tools) and a strong interest in the data engineering space it lives in. - A track record of technical, customer-facing work in support, solutions engineering, developer relations, or similar. - Clear written communication strong enough to explain a root cause to a skeptical senior engineer and earn their trust.
Nice to have - Direct experience with the specific orchestration and data platform products in the portfolio. - A history of open-source contribution in any project. - SQL and data warehouse familiarity. - Experience building support tooling or automation.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first team with a flexible-first culture. - Equity stock options, retirement plan with company contribution, and unlimited paid time off. - Medical, dental, and vision insurance, generous parental leave, and life and disability coverage. - A monthly remote work stipend to cover home-office costs. - Coverage hours are 9am to 5pm Pacific, with an on-call rotation shared across the team; the role is measured on Customer Effort Score held in tension with resolution time.
