Senior Automation Engineer (Python, AI Agents & Automation)
Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior engineering role focused on building and scaling automation that connects tools, systems, and teams across documentation, localization, and content operations. The work centers on replacing manual, repetitive processes with agent-driven workflows and robust API integrations in an Agile, AI-first environment. It is a fully remote position based in the United States, with Eastern or Central time zones preferred to support collaboration with global teams.
Responsibilities - Lead the design and rollout of automation supporting documentation and software development workflows, including content creation, validation, publishing, UI localization, translation, and delivery. - Build and operate production-grade agents, scripts, and pipelines that take over complex manual work across documentation, localization, and language operations. - Architect integrations between documentation, localization, and content platforms using MCPs and REST APIs to enable secure, scalable end-to-end workflows. - Apply LLM-based capabilities to generate, validate, transform, and enrich content while staying within approved security, privacy, and compliance standards. - Own reliability, performance, and maintainability of automation systems through monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. - Mentor teammates through design reviews, technical guidance, and knowledge sharing, while partnering cross-functionally to advance automation maturity.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years in automation engineering, software engineering, or systems integration, ideally supporting developer platforms, documentation, localization, or content operations. - Strong Python proficiency with experience building maintainable, testable, production-grade automation and agent frameworks. - Advanced experience with Git-based workflows such as GitHub, including pull requests, code reviews, and repository automation. - Strong understanding of CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps, plus work-tracking experience with Jira, Linear, or similar systems. - Demonstrated ability to integrate LLMs via APIs into documentation or language workflows, with awareness of responsible AI practices. - Flexibility for late-afternoon meetings to collaborate with global teams.
Nice to have - Experience designing multi-agent or tool-orchestrated AI workflows at scale, including coordination and failure recovery. - Background owning or evolving shared automation frameworks used across multiple products or teams. - Familiarity with observability, metrics, and cost tracking for AI-driven automation. - Experience containerizing and operating long-running agent services in production.
