Forward Deployed Engineer

Role overview

A forward-deployed engineering role focused on building production-grade AI systems inside regulated financial institutions. You embed directly with client teams at banks, lenders, insurers, payments companies, credit unions, or wealth platforms, owning a defined workstream from early build-out through to live deployment. An Architect or Senior FDE shapes the system; you write the bulk of the code, make day-to-day technical calls, and shepherd your piece across the compliance bar so it remains dependable after handoff.

Responsibilities

- Deliver shipped, production-ready AI features inside the client's environment, including agentic and LLM-backed workflows that meet functional and compliance requirements. - Own a discrete workstream end-to-end, from early design collaboration through implementation, testing, and post-handoff stability. - Write the majority of the code for the assigned workstream, making pragmatic engineering trade-offs alongside senior peers. - Navigate regulatory and compliance constraints common in banking and lending environments, ensuring deliverables clear review rather than stalling in staging. - Coordinate with client engineering, product, and risk stakeholders to align technical decisions with business and audit needs. - Operate as an embedded contributor on the client side rather than a back-office builder, with daily accountability to the engagement.

Requirements

- Hands-on software engineering experience shipping production systems, ideally in Python, TypeScript, or comparable languages used for AI application development. - Familiarity with large language models, agentic AI patterns, and the surrounding tooling for evaluation, orchestration, and integration. - Comfort working inside regulated enterprise environments such as financial services, with awareness of how compliance and audit requirements shape engineering choices. - Eligibility to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship; international relocation and non-U.S. remote arrangements are not considered. - Residence in one of the approved remote-eligible states: Texas, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, South Carolina, or Washington. - Ability to operate autonomously on an assigned workstream while staying tightly aligned with senior technical leadership and client stakeholders.
