Software-Architect / System-Designer (100% Remote)

Role overview

A fully remote position for a software architect who approaches problems as a systems designer, reaching for schema diagrams and load assumptions before touching code. The role centers on building an all-in-one property management platform that combines inbox, CRM, documents, telephony, video calls, team chat, and AI agents. You will operate in an AI-first development environment powered by modern AI coding assistants.

Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end system design: data modeling, state placement, component communication, and behavior under load - Make hard-to-reverse architectural decisions early with explicit reasoning about trade-offs - Design and own the data layer, including tables, relationships, indexing strategies, and query optimization that holds up as data and traffic grow - Design queues, background jobs, and long-running workflows that remain correct and reliable under heavy load and partial failure - Contribute to architecture decisions, the direction of the stack, and the overall product vision - Operate within an AI-first development setup where AI tools write the majority of code

Requirements

- Genuine systems-design background with the ability to design a database from scratch and reason about query performance and data growth - Instinct to think in terms of consistency, throughput, failure modes, and bottlenecks - Comfort designing queues, background jobs, and long-running workflows, including the trade-offs they involve - Treats reliability, scalability, and maintainability as default concerns - Solid English communication skills for working within the team - Works autonomously and takes full ownership of tasks

Nice to have

- Familiarity with the thinking in *Designing Data-Intensive Applications* or equivalent systems-design philosophy
