Remote job
Modeling & Simulation Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Develop the modeling and simulation infrastructure used to evaluate AI accelerator architectures before hardware is available. This role combines computer architecture, software engineering, and quantitative analysis: you will build performance models, functional and timing simulators, and virtual platforms, then make them dependable tools for firmware, runtime, and host-software development.
Responsibilities
- Create analytical workload models to assess latency, throughput, utilization, and compute, memory, and communication bottlenecks. - Build and extend functional and timing models for accelerator compute, memory, data movement, interconnects, and control processors, balancing detail against simulation speed. - Connect accelerator models to virtual platforms and host-interface models for realistic software workloads. - Compare architectural options through reproducible experiments and clearly explain the assumptions and limits behind results. - Keep simulator interfaces aligned with production firmware, runtime, and host software so tests and diagnostics can carry over to hardware. - Validate model behavior against reference implementations and available hardware results; improve regression coverage, performance, and usability through automation, tracing, checkpointing, and deterministic execution.
Requirements
The available description does not include the role’s specific required qualifications, so no experience level, degree, or technology requirements can be stated reliably.
Benefits and work setup
The role is described as remote-first, with a company-provided computer and home-office setup. Listed benefits include company-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability coverage, supplemental insurance options, unlimited paid time off, 13 paid holidays, equity, and a 401(k) match. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the U.S.; new visa sponsorship is unavailable, though eligible H-1B transfers may be supported.
