Data Engineer

Role overview

Create and maintain the data foundations behind business intelligence and reporting for software and insurance operations. The role focuses on reliable ETL/ELT pipelines, accurate transformations, and warehouse performance, with close collaboration across data, analytics, science, and actuarial functions.

Responsibilities - Build and monitor data pipelines with BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer. - Develop complex SQL transformations and ensure consistency across source datasets. - Help shape star and snowflake models for evolving reporting requirements. - Identify and address pipeline bottlenecks to improve speed and cloud cost efficiency. - Work with analysts, data scientists, and actuaries to encode business concepts such as churn and claims ratios. - Support code quality and documentation for maintainable data systems.

Requirements - Strong SQL skills for complex transformations and efficient queries. - Experience building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines. - Knowledge of warehouse modeling approaches such as star and snowflake schemas. - Ability to analyze data quality and performance problems methodically. - Collaboration skills for translating business logic into technical work.
