Infrastructure Engineer (remote contract)

Role overview

Build and operate secure, scalable cloud environments on Azure across analytics, AI, compute, storage, networking, and platform services. This contract role combines infrastructure deployment, architecture validation, and automation, with close collaboration across technical teams to address platform needs and improve delivery practices.

Responsibilities

- Configure and maintain Azure infrastructure and platform environments across multiple service layers. - Create architecture proofs to assess whether proposed designs meet security and performance needs. - Automate infrastructure delivery using Infrastructure as Code practices. - Support cloud platform design and deployment in collaboration with technical teams. - Troubleshoot infrastructure, platform, and deployment challenges and propose solutions. - Contribute to technical decisions and ongoing improvements to cloud and DevOps practices.

Requirements

- At least five years of infrastructure engineering experience. - Proficiency with Azure and Azure DevOps. - Experience using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code. - Hands-on experience deploying Azure services, networking, and cloud infrastructure. - Understanding of cloud architecture concerns such as security, scalability, performance, and reliability. - Experience deploying environments and validating architectures, plus strong problem-solving and collaboration skills. - Current Secret-level security clearance at the time of application.
