Automation Engineer - API/Data/SQL

Role overview Build automated checks that help keep APIs, data pipelines, transformations, and databases reliable. You’ll create reusable test frameworks, verify data and interface behavior, and connect test runs to delivery pipelines so teams can review quality evidence and results.

Responsibilities - Automate validation for APIs, ETL pipelines, data transformations, database reconciliation, and regression scenarios. - Develop reusable automation frameworks in Python and perform SQL-based checks. - Verify schemas, interface contracts, and batch or event-driven data flows. - Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and follow Git branching and code review practices. - Create logging, reporting, and execution evidence for test results.

Requirements - At least five years of test automation experience, ideally on enterprise data integration work. - At least five years building reusable automation frameworks with advanced Python. - Strong experience with Python, Pytest, Playwright, Requests or HTTPX, SQL, and Pandas or PySpark. - Familiarity with Postman/Newman, Azure DevOps Repos and Pipelines, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks. - Knowledge of Kafka or Event Hub, JFrog Artifactory, and Allure or a similar reporting tool. - Current Government of Canada Secret clearance at the time of application.
