Role overview

A senior consulting role focused on guiding public sector, defense industrial base, and commercial clients through complex cybersecurity and regulatory compliance initiatives. The position acts as a trusted advisor, helping organizations balance day-to-day operations with the obligations of federal and industry risk management frameworks. The work spans Microsoft-centric cloud environments and includes direct engagement with high-profile clients.

Responsibilities

- Serve as a trusted advisor on compliance projects, helping customers reconcile operational demands with framework obligations - Author and refine policies, plans, procedures, and plans of action and milestones for new and existing CJIS and FedRAMP environments - Conduct security assessments, compliance audits, and gap analyses, then translate findings into clear improvement paths - Interview client personnel and deliver presentations along with educational materials on compliance topics - Partner with compliance subject matter experts, technical architects, sales teams, and client stakeholders to deliver engagements - Contribute to the standardization of service offerings and help shape future consulting strategies

Requirements

- Three or more years working with compliance standards such as CMMC, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, DoD RMF, CIS, HIPAA, CJIS, and FedRAMP - Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field preferred - Active certification in at least two relevant areas, with Certified CMMC Professional or Certified CMMC Assessor credentials preferred - Three or more years in data security and compliance, including at least two years of audit experience focused on CMMC v2, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, or FedRAMP - Deep working knowledge of Microsoft compliance capabilities within Azure and Office 365 - Strong written and verbal communication skills, leadership ability, and a collaborative working style - U.S. citizenship with the ability to pass a background investigation up to ten years deep

- Experience with additional regulatory or risk frameworks beyond the core list - Cloud security and compliance expertise paired with Microsoft compliance tool proficiency - A track record of building trusted-advisor relationships with clients and peers

Benefits and work setup

- Compensation typically falls between $120,000 and $210,000, depending on experience, clearance level, education, and tenure in the field - Travel may be required based on client needs - A benefits package is available, with details shared during the hiring process
