About this role
Role overview This senior lead developer role drives the design, build, and deployment of scalable enterprise web applications supporting a federal government client. The position combines hands-on full-stack engineering with technical leadership, focusing on modern web technologies, microservices, and cloud-native solutions built on AWS.
Responsibilities - Lead end-to-end development of high-performance applications using Java/Spring Boot and Node.js on the backend with Angular on the frontend - Architect, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable AWS environments spanning services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and API Gateway - Design RESTful APIs and microservices that connect frontends, backend services, and data stores - Implement responsive, accessible frontends using HTML5, CSS, Angular, and modern UI templates - Guide technical teams through code reviews, engineering best practices, and CI/CD initiatives - Partner with stakeholders, product managers, and designers in an Agile environment to translate requirements into working solutions
Requirements - Active Secret security clearance - Active CompTIA Security+ or equivalent IAT Level II certification - B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - 8-10 years of overall experience with at least 3 years of Agile development using Azure DevOps or Jira with Git repositories - Proven experience deploying applications on AWS and building microservices with Spring Boot - Strong skills in Angular, HTML5, CSS, Node.js, relational and non-relational databases, and modern CI/CD tooling
Nice to have - Army HRC ASBS or comparable federal systems experience - API design and documentation experience with JSON or OpenAPI - Vulnerability analysis and remediation background - Familiarity with SAFe, Scrum, or Kanban and object-oriented design principles
