Role overview
A hands-on engineering position focused on designing and operating secure integrations between an enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) platform and surrounding systems such as ServiceNow, ID.me, and the ELK Stack. The work centers on identity federation, middleware development, observability, and automation inside a mission-driven federal environment supporting identity services used at national scale.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and maintain secure federated integrations with identity providers using OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, JWT, and PKCE. - Build and support ServiceNow integrations via Scripted REST APIs, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Import Sets, and MID Servers. - Develop REST APIs, middleware services, and data transformation workflows that connect IAM to downstream enterprise platforms. - Configure and operate Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana pipelines, dashboards, alerting, and observability tooling. - Design resilient, secure data exchanges between IAM, ServiceNow, and monitoring systems while troubleshooting cross-platform incidents. - Produce technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks, collaborating across security, engineering, architecture, and product teams in an Agile setting.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus five years of relevant experience, or nine years of experience with a high school diploma. - Approximately five years of integration engineering, API development, or middleware development experience, including two or more years working with IAM or identity platforms such as ID.me, Okta, ForgeRock, or Ping Identity. - Demonstrated ServiceNow integration and workflow development, plus hands-on ELK Stack configuration. - Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON or XML, web services, API security, and SIEM tools such as Splunk or Microsoft Sentinel integrated with ELK pipelines. - Working familiarity with federated identity standards (OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SAML 2.0, JWT) and federal security frameworks including NIST, FISMA, and FedRAMP. - Proficiency in Python, JavaScript or Node.js, Java, PowerShell, or shell scripting, combined with solid UI and usability experience. - U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance.
Nice to have
- ServiceNow, Elastic, Security+, CISSP, or cloud certifications. - Experience with iPaaS platforms such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or Workato. - Familiarity with AWS GovCloud or Azure Government, plus CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Zero Trust architecture practices. - Prior support of federal IAM, cybersecurity, or ITSM programs.
