Remote job
Senior BI & Marketing Analyst
Job details
About this role
Role overview
This is a senior, hands-on business intelligence role within a subscription-based, direct-to-consumer business, with a strong focus on performance marketing analytics. The role operates at two altitudes: partnering with marketing leadership to shape what the business needs from its data, then personally executing the analysis, SQL, dashboards, and reporting to deliver it. It suits a self-starter who ramps quickly on new datasets, holds a high bar for accuracy, and is equally comfortable presenting to executives and writing queries.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer acquisition performance across paid search, display, affiliate, and organic channels, covering spend efficiency, conversion rates, cost per acquisition, and cost per subscriber, and recommend optimizations to the marketing team. - Build and maintain reporting on subscription funnel economics, including trial starts, trial-to-paid conversion, rebill and retention, churn, and customer lifetime value by channel and campaign. - Evaluate A/B and pricing test results to guide decisions on page content, UX, offers, and pricing. - Investigate anomalies in traffic, conversion, and revenue data, separating real business changes from tracking or attribution artifacts before findings reach stakeholders. - Pull and aggregate data from web analytics, ad platforms, billing systems, and internal databases into clear reporting for stakeholders at all levels. - Design, build, and maintain automated dashboards in the BI platform (Domo), migrating manual and legacy reporting into governed, automated pipelines. - Partner with leadership to define KPIs, metric definitions, and a single source of truth across the business. - Plan the reporting and analytics roadmap with business owners and execute it, eventually coordinating work with BI contractors and external agency partners.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, marketing analytics, or a comparable analytical role. - Strong SQL skills with experience querying and aggregating large datasets from multiple sources; familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake. - Hands-on experience building dashboards and automated reporting in a modern BI platform, with Domo experience required and Power BI, Tableau, or Looker also relevant. - Direct experience supporting a performance marketing or growth team across paid search, display, and affiliates. - Experience with subscription or trial-based D2C business models and their economics, including LTV, ROAS, churn, and cohort analysis. - Advanced Excel skills, including complex functions, pivot tables, and linked, multi-source workbooks. - Demonstrated ability to ramp quickly on a new business, industry, and unfamiliar datasets with minimal guidance. - Strong communication skills, able to present complex quantitative findings in a simple, intuitive format to executive audiences. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Google Analytics (GA4), UTM-based attribution, and combining web analytics with internal data. - Experience working with billing or subscription platform data such as Recurly, Chargebee, or Stripe. - Experience analyzing A/B tests with tools like VWO, Optimizely, or similar. - Experience collaborating with external media agencies or BI contractors.
Benefits and work setup
- Remote position reporting to performance marketing leadership. - Salary range of $110,000 to $120,000. - 401(k) with matching, plus medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
