Senior Business Analyst (m/f/d)

Role overview Support a strategic data and business transformation initiative inside an internationally operating financial services organization. This freelance Senior Business Analyst partners with business, IT, and data governance teams to shape requirements, improve processes, and prepare the organization for a successful go-live.

Responsibilities - Gather, analyze, and document business requirements in close collaboration with business and IT stakeholders. - Act as the central point of contact between business departments, IT, and data governance teams. - Translate business needs into functional specifications, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria. - Apply modern AI tools to streamline requirements engineering, documentation, and analysis activities. - Design, optimize, and improve business processes with a strong focus on data and master data management. - Support testing, data migration, and go-live preparations to ensure delivery quality.

Requirements - At least 10 years of professional experience as a Business Analyst. - Proven ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across all organizational levels. - Hands-on experience using AI-powered tools to support analysis, process optimization, and documentation. - Strong background in financial services such as banking, insurance, or asset management. - Excellent command of English; German is considered a strong asset.

Nice to have - Experience in Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives and exposure to data governance, data quality, and data modeling concepts. - Practical experience with MDM platforms such as Informatica, SAP MDG, Stibo, Reltio, or Semarchy. - Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including BCBS 239 and GDPR. - Experience working in both Agile and traditional project environments.

Benefits and work setup - 12-month freelance engagement based in Vienna, 100% remote with two on-site working days per month. - Day rate of €440 to €520. - Project conducted in English with exposure to a high-impact transformation program in financial services.
