Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior engineering role focused on building AI-driven clinical software in a healthcare technology setting. The position centers on shipping complex systems that blend real-time audio processing, large language models, and event-driven architectures to support clinical documentation, agentic automation, and data integration workflows. It is a high-ownership, full-stack role suited to engineers who thrive on ambiguity and want to contribute meaningfully to system design alongside cross-functional partners.
Responsibilities - Design and maintain real-time pipelines that capture clinical audio, stream transcriptions, and produce structured documentation using LLM-based summarization. - Contribute to agentic systems that process events, invoke tools, and coordinate actions across internal and external services, including implementing safety guardrails. - Build across the stack with Node.js and TypeScript APIs, React frontends, PostgreSQL data models, and AWS infrastructure. - Develop and operate event-driven services using Kafka, SQS, or comparable messaging technologies. - Write reliable, testable, and observable production code, and help monitor, debug, and improve system performance. - Collaborate on prompt engineering, structured-output design, and evaluation of AI-generated results, leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.
Requirements - Five or more years of professional software engineering experience with a track record of independent delivery. - Strong proficiency building backend services in Node.js and TypeScript, paired with React and modern frontend experience. - Hands-on familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, and S3, and with PostgreSQL data modeling. - Exposure to event-driven architectures using Kafka, SQS, or similar systems. - Working knowledge of LLM-based systems, including prompting, structured outputs, or tool usage. - Comfort using AI-assisted development tools in day-to-day engineering workflows.
Nice to have - Prior experience in healthcare, dental, or other regulated technology domains. - Familiarity with agent frameworks or LLM orchestration patterns. - Experience with ETL pipelines, data integration, or multi-tenant SaaS architectures. - Infrastructure as Code experience, for example with the Serverless Framework.
Benefits and work setup - Competitive compensation and benefits package. - Ongoing training and professional development support. - Flexible, uncapped paid time off. - Fully remote work environment.
