Back-end Software Engineer

Role overview

Build backend services and APIs that support mobile applications, collaborating with a Product Owner on product development. The role is centered on PHP and a Symfony or Laravel framework, with occasional contributions to React-based front-end work. The project details are confidential, and the role is listed as remote.

Responsibilities - Develop and maintain REST APIs for mobile application features. - Work with relational databases and caching or search systems to support application needs. - Apply object-oriented design, SOLID principles, and PSR standards in implementation. - Write and maintain automated tests, and use code review to support quality. - Contribute to delivery workflows using containers, message brokers, and CI/CD tools. - Collaborate with product and engineering colleagues in an Agile process; occasionally assist with React front-end work.

Requirements - At least five years of PHP experience and three or more years with Symfony or Laravel. - Five or more years working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. - Familiarity with Redis or Memcached, Elasticsearch, and an ORM. - Experience with Docker, testing tools such as PHPUnit or Codeception, and message brokers such as RabbitMQ or Kafka. - Knowledge of REST API development, CI/CD, Git, Agile processes, and code review. - Understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, and PSR standards.

Nice to have - Experience with API Platform, Kubernetes, or a cloud platform such as Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
