About this role
Role overview Own the functional performance and continuous improvement of an ERP platform and connected systems supporting finance and operational processes across multiple businesses. This hands-on product ownership role spans construction accounting, process configuration, user support, and financial controls; it balances consistent enterprise standards with documented, justified business needs.
Responsibilities - Set and prioritize the ERP roadmap and backlog, translate business needs into requirements and acceptance criteria, and assess proposed fixes or enhancements for value, risk, controls, and scalability. - Standardize and improve finance processes across the general ledger, payables, receivables, billing, purchasing, job costing, work in progress, cash management, fixed assets, reporting, and financial close. - Own construction accounting workflows such as percentage-of-completion revenue, cost-to-complete forecasts, retainage, committed costs, subcontractor accounting, and project billing. - Ensure transactions from project, service, purchasing, inventory, and payroll systems flow accurately into job cost, work in progress, and the general ledger. - Manage configuration, process documentation, testing, access governance, and segregation-of-duties controls; favor reusable standard settings over customizations and workarounds. - Coordinate finance, operations, technology, data, integration, audit, and external partners to resolve functional issues, validate fixes, train users, and support adoption.
Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, operations, information systems, or a related area. - At least five years supporting finance or operational processes in an ERP environment. - Construction or project-based accounting experience, including job costing, work in progress, percentage-of-completion revenue, retainage, committed costs, billing, and cost forecasting. - Experience leading or substantially supporting an eight-day financial close, including reconciliations, work-in-progress preparation, journal entries, review, and issue resolution. - Strong working knowledge of general ledger, payables, receivables, billing, purchasing, job costing, and financial close processes. - Experience with ERP configuration and support, functional testing and documentation, and access controls or segregation-of-duties analysis; able to diagnose complex issues and drive them through verified resolution.
Nice to have - A finance, audit, controls, or product ownership credential; experience with construction-focused ERP platforms, internal controls or audit remediation, system integrations, implementations, or multi-business organizations.
Benefits and work setup - Remote work with required travel. Published base salary is $155,000, with potential performance-based bonus.
