Job details
About this role
Role overview Own product direction and delivery for a data platform and its integrations, helping teams turn competing data needs into clear, sequenced engineering work. The role combines technical product judgment with cross-team prioritization, project definition, and delivery coordination.
Responsibilities - Run a clear intake process for data engineering requests; assess business impact, urgency, dependencies, and deadlines with requesters. - Maintain a prioritized backlog and roadmap, explain trade-offs, and keep teams informed when commitments or priorities change. - Translate selected work into problem statements, requirements, milestones, dependencies, and measurable acceptance criteria. - Coordinate delivery across engineering, analytics, implementation, client success, and external partners; track risks and validate completed work. - Guide platform investments in data ingestion, quality, traceability, reliability, and reusable integrations while balancing near-term commitments. - Improve documentation and processes so teams can plan work and launch clients or data sources with fewer manual steps.
Requirements - Experience owning technical products or programs involving data platforms, infrastructure, or integrations. - Ability to prioritize across teams, resolve disagreements, negotiate scope, and guide ambiguous work through delivery. - Strong SQL skills and working familiarity with Python, cloud data warehouses, ingestion tools, orchestration, and transformation frameworks. - Experience delivering file-based or API integrations amid incomplete documentation, inconsistent data, and changing requirements. - Ability to reason about architecture and communicate effects on delivery, reliability, cost, and future capabilities. - Clear technical writing, plus practical use of AI tools with judgment about validating outputs and protecting sensitive information.
Nice to have Experience with healthcare eligibility, claims, clinical data, drug pricing, healthcare data standards, or protected health information; a background in data, analytics, implementation, or software engineering; or experience building reusable integrations and delivery practices in an early-stage organization.
