Role overview A senior product leader is needed to take strategic ownership across a cloud-based payroll, HR, time, and benefits platform serving small and midsize businesses. The role blends long-range vision with hands-on delivery, scaling enterprise-grade capabilities while ensuring regulatory precision and driving measurable customer and revenue growth.
Responsibilities - Define and champion a multi-year product vision and strategic roadmap for core payroll capabilities, tying workstreams to revenue expansion and customer retention goals - Partner with engineering, revenue, and operations leadership to architect scalable automated solutions for multi-state wage laws, tax updates, and HR compliance requirements - Drive alignment across engineering, UX, sales, operations, and leadership teams, managing complex system dependencies and mitigating cross-domain technical risks - Identify and lead high-impact AI and automation opportunities using LLMs, machine learning, and dynamic workflows to streamline payroll setup, tax calculations, and self-service experiences - Lead end-to-end product discovery for ambiguous opportunities, taking capabilities from 0-to-1 ideation through enterprise-grade scaling - Define and track product metrics and KPIs to measure feature impact, validate hypotheses, and continuously optimize user experience and platform health - Mentor product managers and product owners while evolving discovery frameworks and go-to-market processes
Requirements - 5+ years of product management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS, payroll, fintech, HRIS, or tax compliance platforms - Hands-on experience or deep familiarity with payroll, HRIS, benefits administration, time and attendance, or financial technology systems - Practical experience identifying, scoping, and shipping AI-powered capabilities or automation tools within a SaaS ecosystem - Technical fluency to engage engineering on system constraints and translate them into elegant product designs - Demonstrated ability to lead without explicit playbooks and make sound decisions in fast-moving, high-stakes environments - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience; advanced degree or relevant certification preferred - Proven track record of launching and scaling complex enterprise software from inception to market success
