Principal Technical Program Manager, AI Physical Deployment
Job details
About this role
Role overview This is a senior individual contributor role driving delivery and execution for AI-focused physical deployment programs across global data centre partners. The position serves as the strategic bridge between internal stakeholders and external vendors, owning RFx processes, supporting contracts, and driving cost-efficiency initiatives. It demands someone who has chosen depth of craft over people management and can align senior stakeholders while navigating highly complex infrastructure programs.
Responsibilities - Act as the central coordination point across internal and external teams involved in data centre infrastructure delivery. - Build programs from ambiguous ideas and drive measurable value in financial, timeline, or risk-avoidance terms from concept through execution. - Establish communication channels, decision forums, escalation paths, and operating rhythms that keep stakeholders aligned across the full delivery lifecycle. - Drive alignment on program priorities, delivery milestones, ownership, dependencies, risk mitigation, and executive decisions. - Translate complex technical, commercial, operational, and financial inputs into clear, actionable plans and decision points for leadership. - Mentor program managers and onsite technicians, raise delivery standards through playbooks and reviews, and advise executive leadership on portfolio risk.
Requirements - 5+ years of technical program management experience driving large-scale, complex infrastructure or physical deployment programs. - Strong foundational understanding of data centre infrastructure, distributed systems, and networking concepts. - Proven expertise in modern program management methodologies, with PMP, Agile, or Scrum preferred. - Demonstrable experience defining, tracking, and improving performance against operational metrics such as uptime, availability, MTTR, and SLOs/SLIs. - Direct experience managing data centre build-outs and hardware commissioning processes. - Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical field such as Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience, with willingness to travel occasionally.
Nice to have - Experience in hyperscale data centre delivery, AI infrastructure, GPU clusters, or high-density compute environments. - Familiarity with end-to-end data centre lifecycle, including power, utilities, substations, cooling, switchgear, and MEP dependencies. - Experience with program delivery tooling such as Smartsheet, Jira, Asana, Monday.com, MS Project, Primavera P6, Power BI, or Tableau. - Familiarity with SRE principles, automation tooling, and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure. - PMP, PgMP, Agile, Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification.
Benefits and work setup - Base salary range of $250,000-$303,000 USD, with potential eligibility for bonus, equity, or commission programs. - Benefits package may include medical, dental, vision, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plan participation. - Human-first flexibility with autonomy to shape how work gets done, plus a tailored progression plan.
