About this role

Role overview A senior data role inside an AI-focused GPU cloud company, responsible for owning and evolving the organisational ontology that underpins a centralised data platform serving all workflow projects. The position sits in the Operations function and partners with use case leads, data engineers, governance, and compliance teams to shape how real-world data is modelled, governed, and consumed across the platform.

Responsibilities - Own the ongoing development of the ontology from existing models and production pipelines, ensuring it remains the primary consumption point for workflow projects. - Manage the ontology backlog by prioritising change requests and triaging work to other teams when appropriate. - Evaluate requests for new objects and structural changes with a clear view of impact on the wider ontology and long-term roadmap. - Partner with use case leads and data source developers on requests to ingest new data sources into the platform. - Contribute to architecture and data sourcing discussions to keep new work aligned with the existing ontology and programme strategy. - Collaborate with data governance and compliance teams to ensure access controls follow internal procedures. - Develop scalable processes for governance checks during ontology development and maintenance.

Requirements - Eight or more years of experience in data architecture, ontology design, data modelling, data engineering, analytics engineering, or enterprise data platforms. - Three or more years leading complex, cross-functional data initiatives. - Hands-on experience designing conceptual, logical, or semantic data models. - Practical experience with data pipelines and production data workflows. - Strong knowledge of databases, schemas, metadata, and data quality practices. - Proven ability to partner across engineering, operations, governance, and business teams. - Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have - Experience with Palantir Foundry, semantic layers, ontologies, or knowledge graphs. - Background in AI, cloud infrastructure, or high-growth technology companies. - Familiarity with data governance, lineage, and access controls. - A track record of influencing senior stakeholders.

Benefits and work setup - Highly competitive package combining base salary and equity, reviewed every twelve months. - Dynamic progression plan tailored to individual ambitions, with support to lead and challenge the status quo. - Flexible workplace arrangements that trust employees to deliver and shape their own schedules. - Base salary range of $150,000 to $200,000 USD, with potential eligibility for bonus, equity, or commission. - Benefits package may include medical, dental, vision, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plan participation.
