(1573) Data Engineer (PostgreSQL & Databricks)

Role overview A remote-first engineering organisation is building a talent pool of Data Engineers for upcoming client engagements, with a focus on designing and delivering enterprise-grade data pipelines. The role combines hands-on coding, architecture, and production support across PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and the Databricks platform. Candidates join a distributed LATAM team that values autonomy, open communication, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities - Design, build, integrate, and maintain scalable data pipelines and supporting applications. - Administer and support PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases within cloud and on-prem environments. - Architect and deliver high-quality code following modern engineering best practices. - Diagnose and resolve production issues, raising risks early with development leads. - Build enterprise applications at scale, ensuring high availability and performance across components. - Validate ideas through proofs of concept, tests, and external research, contributing to special initiatives as needed.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience. - Demonstrated experience administering RDS Postgres and Aurora, with working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration. - Hands-on experience with the Databricks platform, including Unity Catalog, notebooks, and pipeline creation. - At least three years of software development experience building commercial applications. - Track record contributing in distributed Agile/Scrum and DevSecOps delivery teams. - Proficiency with AWS and modern cloud patterns such as serverless, event-driven architecture, SOA, microservices, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code. - Solid grasp of software engineering practices across the full SDLC, including coding standards, design patterns, code reviews, source control, build, testing, and operations.

Nice to have - Experience working on consulting or client-facing data engineering projects. - Familiarity with additional data warehousing or streaming tools beyond the core stack.
