Staff-level opportunity leading the cloud platform behind a consumer 3D, AI, and visualization experience used by millions globally. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with cross-team platform strategy, focusing on reliability, scalability, developer experience, and operational efficiency across multiple cloud providers.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and evolution of cloud architectures, platform services, and systems integrations in collaboration with engineering teams - Define platform strategy and architectural standards across infrastructure, deployment, observability, reliability, and operational readiness - Own end-to-end technical outcomes for production systems, including reliability, scalability, security, and continuous improvement - Drive complex, cross-team initiatives and technology roadmaps aligned with product priorities - Identify systemic constraints affecting engineering velocity, developer experience, and service quality - Promote engineering excellence through architecture reviews, design docs, code reviews, test automation, and service objectives - Mentor senior engineers and partner with product leadership to evaluate trade-offs and communicate technical direction - Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident-response improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience - 10+ years in DevOps, SRE, Platform Engineering, or closely related production engineering roles - Strong software engineering capability with solid computer science foundations - 5+ years of hands-on experience with Kubernetes and designing architecture for complex cloud and platform systems used by multiple teams - Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of production systems for reliability, scalability, and security - Experience operating production services on cloud infrastructure, including incident response and on-call responsibility - Experience leading cross-team initiatives, coordinating roadmaps, managing technical risk, and influencing without formal authority - Advanced English, given that work is conducted with US-based clients
Nice to have
- Experience with Django or Django REST Framework, Google Cloud Platform, low-latency customer-facing applications, or DAG or workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal or Airflow - Infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform, cloud cost optimization or FinOps practices, and PostgreSQL - Mentorship of senior engineers and improvements to engineering practices through architectural guidance and technical reviews
