About this role
Role overview An early-career DevOps engineer supporting Linux infrastructure, automation tooling, and AWS cloud services for a SaaS benefits platform. The role involves day-to-day system monitoring, provisioning, scripting, and Tier II incident support, with the opportunity to influence broader teams in adopting cloud best practices.
Responsibilities - Perform daily system monitoring, review system and application logs, and verify completion of automated processes. - Provision and configure hardware, services, storage, directories, and settings in line with standards and project requirements. - Conduct ongoing performance tuning, infrastructure upgrades, and resource optimization. - Research, develop, and implement automated approaches for recurring system administration tasks. - Provide Tier II support for incidents and requests, investigating and troubleshooting issues across constituencies. - Maintain documentation and knowledge base articles, and help drive adoption of cloud technologies and best practices across teams.
Requirements - 2+ years of professional experience with AWS, or an AWS Certification. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent professional experience. - 2+ years of Linux systems administration and configuration experience. - Strong scripting skills, with Python or Bash preferred. - Experience with cloud networking and security best practices, DNS, web server configuration, and monitoring and alerting solutions. - Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as GitLab, Terraform, or CDK; containers and orchestration tools like ECS or Kubernetes; and CI/CD pipelines in an Agile environment.
Nice to have - Ability to use AI tools to ramp quickly on large, complex codebases.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote position. - Listed pay range of $75,000–$115,000 USD per year, with eligibility for a quarterly bonus incentive plan. - Comprehensive benefits package available for full-time and part-time benefit-eligible roles.
