Educational Data Analyst

Role overview

This position supports K-12 educators and district administrators by turning educational data into actionable insights through custom analytics dashboards. The role sits at the intersection of data analysis and the classroom, partnering directly with school leaders while collaborating with internal data science, engineering, and product teams. It reports to the Head of Data Science.

Responsibilities

- Meet with district administrators and educators to gather analytics requirements and coach diverse stakeholders on interpreting dashboard outputs - Design and build customized metrics and visualizations tailored to district needs - Write and maintain SQL queries to manage data pipelines, integrations, and reporting accuracy - Troubleshoot data quality, platform, and modeling issues to keep dashboards reliable over time - Partner with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to enhance the underlying data platform

Requirements

- 4+ years of experience as a data analyst, data engineer, or comparable role - Hands-on experience working with K-12 educational data and school systems - Advanced SQL skills for database management and complex queries - Proficiency with data visualization tools and dashboard design - Ability to translate complex datasets into clear, digestible stories for non-technical audiences - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with comfort working independently - Genuine interest in improving educational outcomes for students

Nice to have

- Python experience for data cleaning, analysis, and automation - Familiarity with K-12 Student Information Systems such as Infinite Campus, PowerSchool, Skyward, or Aeries
