Role overview
Serve as the dedicated post-sales technical owner for public sector customers of an observability platform, balancing hands-on technical guidance with light account growth responsibilities. The role blends architecture, demos, customer enablement, and partnership with sales to drive adoption, renewals, and expansion across government agencies, municipal departments, public utilities, and similar organizations. It is a field-based position with regular customer-facing activity and travel.
Responsibilities
- Own customer adoption, onboarding, and continued technical success across an assigned book of business. - Lead the integration, optimization, and ongoing use of observability products inside customer environments. - Partner with sales to identify revenue opportunities through upsells and contract renewals. - Champion new product features and relay structured customer feedback to product management and engineering. - Maintain a working understanding of each customer's business context and technical stack, and run interactive demos that showcase key workflows. - Travel to customer sites as needed to support engagement, with extensive travel available for those who want it.
Requirements
- 3+ years of pre-sales or post-sales experience in the software industry, or direct work inside a public sector organization such as a government agency, municipal department, public utility, or state or federal enterprise. - Familiarity or strong interest in performance monitoring tools spanning infrastructure, application, web or mobile, and user experience. - A blend of technical depth and a sales- or customer-oriented mindset. - Willingness to learn new technologies quickly and keep project plans and documentation current. - Fluent written and spoken English.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of one or more languages such as Java, .NET, Ruby, C, Python, Node.js, or Golang. - Exposure to cloud technologies including Kubernetes, containers, microservices, DevOps, or CI/CD. - Background in mobile platforms and architectures for iOS and Android. - Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent field.
