Remote job
Technical Project Manger (TPM) II
Job details
About this role
Role overview A remote engineering organization is hiring a Technical Project Manager II to bring structure and rhythm to how a software team plans, tracks, and delivers work. The TPM runs planning cadence, keeps the issue tracker accurate, surfaces blockers early, and leads the team's adoption of AI-driven project management workflows. This is a connective role that reports to engineering leadership and helps engineers stay focused on building.
Responsibilities - Facilitate weekly planning and sync meetings during Pacific/Eastern overlap hours, translating product priorities into clearly owned engineering assignments. - Maintain the team's issue tracker daily so status, ownership, and project states always reflect reality. - Work asynchronously to clear dependencies, gather updates, and escalate to leadership when requirements are unclear. - Publish a daily progress report in the team's chat tool and build/maintain system architecture diagrams from engineering input. - Design, document, and hand off AI workflows, prompts, and automations that reduce manual project management overhead and can be run without you.
Requirements - Three to five years as a Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master, or similar delivery role supporting software engineering teams. - Hands-on experience with Linear or a comparable issue tracker and Slack-first asynchronous collaboration. - Availability for synchronous meetings during core Pacific/Eastern overlap hours and willingness to travel up to roughly five percent.
Nice to have - Demonstrated examples of using AI tools to automate reporting, summaries, and tracking. - Comfort taking an engineer's verbal walkthrough and turning it into a clear architecture diagram. - Background in spotting delivery risks, dependencies, and scope creep early, and adding process only where it helps the team ship.
Benefits and work setup - Base salary range of $110,000 to $124,000 annually, with performance-based cash bonuses. - Majority employer-paid health, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents, plus group life insurance at two times base salary. - Flexible paid time off, FSA and HSA options, and a fully remote engineering team spread across Pacific and Eastern time zones.
