Role overview
A legal technology company is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for its newly formed AI Growth team to build the systems that help customers understand, adopt, and realize value from AI across the platform. The work centers on designing and maintaining backend services and data pipelines that power AI usage metering, reporting, billing integrations, and model availability. The role partners closely with product, AI, business intelligence, finance, and platform engineering to help establish architecture and engineering practices for a growing team.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain production-grade backend services for AI usage metering, reporting, billing integrations, and model availability - Design and develop data pipelines and event-driven systems that reliably process usage and product data at scale - Develop cloud-native services using C#, AWS, and modern backend architecture patterns - Build integrations across AI, product, data, billing, and platform systems - Write high-quality, well-tested code and actively participate in code reviews - Contribute to system design and architecture decisions across backend services, data pipelines, and integrations - Own the reliability and operational health of services and investigate production issues
Requirements
- Strong experience building distributed backend services using C# or a comparable backend language - Experience with AWS or Azure and modern cloud-native backend architecture patterns - Hands-on experience building or maintaining data pipelines, event-driven systems, or analytics infrastructure - Experience designing and operating reliable production services at scale - Experience collaborating across engineering, product, data, and other technical teams to deliver integrated solutions
Nice to have
- Experience building billing, metering, usage tracking, or rate-limiting systems - Experience with product analytics, instrumentation, or usage-based data systems - Familiarity with AWS services such as Lambda, DynamoDB, SQS, and S3 - Experience with Snowflake, Kafka, or similar data and event-streaming technologies - Experience connecting product usage data with commercial or billing workflows
