About this role
Role overview A senior backend engineering position focused on designing and evolving a modern, cloud-based platform that powers large-scale digital fundraising experiences. The work is hands-on and highly collaborative, with a strong emphasis on architectural quality, scalable service design, and pragmatic problem solving in a fast-paced product environment.
Responsibilities - Design and develop end-to-end backend services and API features in C# .NET, prioritizing performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability. - Produce well-tested code, define integration and contract testing strategies, and apply clean code and domain-driven design principles throughout delivery. - Partner with product and QA to refine scope, estimate roadmap items, and surface technical risks and dependencies early. - Take shared ownership of system health, including observability (logging, metrics, alerting), incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and backend security practices. - Identify and address technical debt, performance bottlenecks, and process inefficiencies in owned areas to improve developer experience. - Contribute to design and code reviews, mentor peers through pairing and onboarding, and use AI-assisted development tools responsibly.
Requirements - 5+ years of professional experience building production backend services with C# .NET, delivering robust and scalable systems. - Deep knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL) and caching solutions such as Redis, including data modeling and performance tuning. - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred; Azure or AWS also relevant) and containerized deployment environments. - Practical experience designing event-driven or distributed systems using messaging tools like Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, or equivalent queues. - Solid understanding of software architecture, REST APIs, design patterns, observability, and backend security fundamentals. - Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions to diverse audiences and manage multiple work streams.
Nice to have - Experience building agentic AI software development workflows. - Background in platform migrations or scaling systems through significant user growth.
Benefits and work setup - Remote or hybrid working options available. - Private health insurance, including dental care, plus optional family coverage. - Free on-site parking and a casual office environment with a game and relaxation zone. - Company-sponsored training and personal development budget. - Additional paid leave after the first and fifth years of service. - Fully covered sports/multisport card, employee referral bonuses, and regular social events.
