Project Manager (Scrum Master)

Role overview A Project Manager / Scrum Master role with a consultancy that partners with government agencies on technology modernization programs. The position manages support for a mid-to-large-scale product, serving as the connective tissue between engineers, designers, and government stakeholders to keep delivery predictable and well-aligned.

Responsibilities - Act as the primary connection between government stakeholders and the engineering team, facilitating agile ceremonies, estimating effort and capacity, triaging production incidents, setting delivery expectations, and removing blockers. - Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with teammates, government stakeholders, contractors, and cross-functional partners. - Coordinate across multiple scrum teams to drive alignment across complex ecosystems and support successful outcomes. - Monitor team velocity and sprint commitment reliability, and continuously improve processes for planning, organizing, and delivering work. - Provide clear, accurate, and timely reporting on risks, progress, successes, challenges, and outcomes. - Join a rotation that leads production releases and incident response approximately one week per month, on top of normal Agile Scrum duties; high-priority incidents may require hours outside the normal workday.

Requirements - 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Delivery Manager, Scrum Master, Product Manager, or similar role in a complex software environment with multiple stakeholders. - 3+ years leading Agile Scrum teams, including the ability to serve as Scrum Master for two concurrent, highly technical workstreams such as cloud infrastructure and payments processing. - Hands-on experience using Agile performance metrics, including velocity, sprint commitment reliability, capacity planning, and backlog health. - Experience using and managing engineering ticketing systems, with Azure DevOps (ADO) and Confluence preferred. - Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with a bias toward action in ambiguous situations.
