About this role

Role overview

A senior product leadership opportunity focused on a market-leading tumor-informed minimal residual disease (MRD) oncology assay delivered as a laboratory service. The role owns commercial scale and lab-side product performance, including turnaround time, throughput, and process stability across core laboratory sites. It is an analytical, data-first, execution-heavy position that bridges technical change control, product requirements, SQL-based analysis, and day-to-day lab floor operations.

Responsibilities

- Own and execute the product roadmap for future assay features and service components. - Author clear requirements that balance clinical customer needs against real-world lab throughput constraints. - Build data-backed business cases and financial models for equipment, automation, and operational improvements. - Run the change control process end-to-end: root cause investigation, requirements, board review, hypercare monitoring, and close-out. - Define quantitative product performance indicators, track operational datasets, and drive systematic process improvements across teams. - Establish go/no-go criteria and hypercare metrics for new feature launches, retaining ownership through defined exit criteria. - Conduct voice-of-customer interviews, market research, and competitive intelligence to validate features and inform market growth. - Partner with product marketing on positioning, pricing, and technical launch collateral. - Communicate vision, roadmap progress, and technical updates to cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, physical sciences, statistics, or engineering; Master's or PhD preferred. - Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including 2-3 years in product management, commercialization, or strategic consulting within diagnostics, medical devices, or oncology. - Experience with products delivered as laboratory services strongly preferred. - Demonstrated track record driving data-driven process improvements using operational data and voice-of-customer input to eliminate failure modes across the sample lifecycle. - Hands-on experience with quality systems (CAPA, nonconformance, change control) in a CLIA/CAP lab environment preferred. - Familiarity with SQL, Snowflake, Statistical Process Control (SPC), or continuous improvement frameworks such as Lean or Six Sigma preferred.

Benefits and work setup

- Remote position; candidates must live near a laboratory hub in the Bay Area, CA or Austin, TX and be able to commute onsite a few times per month. - Base salary range of approximately $154,600-$190,300 USD, with final compensation based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity. - Annual performance incentive bonus and long-term equity awards. - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits. - 401(k) plan with company match. - Generous paid time off and company holidays, plus additional wellness and work-life benefits.
