About this role

Role overview Develop computational methods that help analyze multi-modal genomic data in research on detecting multiple cancers from a blood sample. Working with large sequencing and clinical datasets, the scientist will take analyses from early investigation through implementation, evaluation, and clinical validation, in close partnership with laboratory and clinical researchers.

Responsibilities - Develop and validate algorithms for large-scale epigenomic datasets with multiple data types. - Turn research analyses into tested, evaluated implementations and extend existing analysis pipelines. - Work with sequencing and clinical cohort data, maintaining data integrity and quality control. - Collaborate with molecular biology and clinical science partners on open-ended research questions. - Visualize findings and explain results to technical and non-technical audiences. - Support high standards for software quality and reproducible analysis.

Requirements - A Ph.D. in bioinformatics, computer science, biology, or a related field; alternatively, a bachelor’s or master’s degree plus at least four years of relevant professional experience. - Experience developing and validating workflows for high-throughput sequencing data. - Experience applying and assessing statistical or machine-learning methods on large datasets. - Strong quantitative reasoning and data analysis skills applied to scientific problems. - Proficiency in Python and its scientific computing ecosystem, along with Linux command-line tools and cloud computing environments. - Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have - Familiarity with DNA methylation or other epigenomic data, cell-free DNA, liquid biopsy, cancer genomics, or diagnostics. - Experience with large clinical cohorts and their associated data and metadata. - Familiarity with AI tools for scientific work or foundation models applied to biological data.
