Director, Data Product Engineering

Role overview A senior product engineering leadership role focused on the data product layer of a healthcare analytics platform, not the underlying platform itself. The position reports to the Head of Data and AI and partners with platform, governance, and product functions to standardize how domain-owned, AI-ready data and analytics products are designed, certified, and consumed across the business.

Responsibilities - Lead delivery of cross-functional data products, analytics experiences, and Golden KPIs that enable data-driven decisions across the business. - Create the operating model that delivers analytics to business users through embedded data and AI engineers within each domain. - Define and enforce a publishing standard for analytics products: semantically correct, AI-ready, lineage-documented, ownership-assigned, and catalog-complete. - Drive agentic data engineering as the default, including AI-assisted pipeline generation, AI-driven testing, and LLM tools in code review and documentation. - Raise the data product quality bar with CI/CD for pipelines, infrastructure as code, data observability, and automated drift detection. - Ensure compliance with HIPAA, RAQA, and data classification requirements at design time. - Own the discovery and contribution model so that certified data products are usable by both humans and AI consumers without an engineering queue.

Requirements - Demonstrated ability to build a self-service analytics product experience for business users. - Experience creating a catalog of AI-ready, gold-standard cross-functional data products. - Track record of creating operating models that emphasize reusability, speed, and business value beyond a single domain. - Background leading data product or analytics engineering teams with measurable delivery outcomes. - Familiarity with data mesh concepts, headless data products, dbt, and modern CI/CD practices for data pipelines. - Ability to instrument baselines and delivery KPIs and report them transparently to leadership.
