Senior Network Solution Architect (Remote)

Role overview

This is a remote, customer-facing pre-sales position focused on designing modern, scalable, and secure enterprise network architectures. The role partners closely with sales, delivery, and technology vendor teams to translate complex business challenges into technical designs that span data center, campus, and WAN environments. It suits a consultative network professional who enjoys leading whiteboard sessions, presenting to executives, and acting as a long-term technical advisor.

Responsibilities

- Lead pre-sales technical engagements, aligning network architectures with client objectives across data center, campus, and WAN environments. - Design and present solutions using Cisco (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR) and Juniper (MX, EX, SRX) platforms, addressing routing, switching, VPN, and firewall requirements. - Run discovery meetings, whiteboarding sessions, and technical workshops to define use cases, success criteria, and architectural recommendations. - Collaborate with account managers, delivery teams, and OEM partners to build comprehensive proposals, bills of materials, and statements of work. - Produce high-quality documentation including high-level designs, solution briefs, and client-ready presentations. - Contribute to RFP responses, competitive analyses, and validation of proposed designs, while staying current on emerging trends such as SD-WAN, EVPN-VXLAN, and network automation.

Requirements

- At least 7 years of enterprise networking experience, including 2+ years in a customer-facing pre-sales or solution architect role. - Deep hands-on expertise with Cisco and Juniper infrastructure, covering routing, switching, and firewalls. - Strong command of Layer 2/3 protocols such as BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, VRFs, plus QoS, NAT, and ACLs. - Demonstrated ability to lead technical discussions with both engineers and executive stakeholders. - Experience designing or consulting on data center, WAN, or secure remote access solutions. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear diagrams, proposals, and presentations.

Nice to have

- Professional certifications such as CCNP/CCIE (Enterprise or Data Center) or JNCIP/JNCIE. - Familiarity with SD-WAN, EVPN-VXLAN, MPLS, or cloud networking across AWS or Azure. - Exposure to network automation tools and scripting with Ansible or Python. - Working knowledge of NAC, 802.1X, RADIUS, and hybrid networking environments.
