A remote-friendly opportunity is open for a Technical Solutions Manager to join an Information Technology team focused on enterprise software evaluation and SaaS lifecycle management. The position centers on leading technical trade studies, steering software selection, and owning the operational administration of a broad tooling landscape that supports engineering, manufacturing, and mission operations. The work blends systems thinking, vendor management, and security-aware procurement to keep cross-functional teams equipped with high-impact, well-governed tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead technical trade studies and software evaluations assessing architectural fit, security posture, and cost efficiency - Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to define technical requirements and select optimal SaaS solutions - Collaborate with Legal, InfoSec, and Procurement on technical due diligence, vendor onboarding, and SLA reviews - Oversee day-to-day license lifecycle management, including renewal forecasting, per-team cost tracking, and software cost per new user - Track seat utilization and automate license harvesting to reduce waste and optimize software spend - Serve as primary technical point of contact for external SaaS vendors, handling escalations and renewals - Perform routine audits to detect shadow IT, retire redundant tools, and maintain security compliance - Streamline the internal IT intake framework to shorten evaluation and deployment lead times
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience - 5+ years in IT/IS roles spanning software architecture, enterprise tool evaluation, SaaS management, or IT operations - Demonstrated success leading technical trade studies, vendor evaluations, and TCO/ROI analyses for software acquisitions - Experience partnering with InfoSec, Legal, and Procurement on security reviews (SOC 2, ISO) and contract negotiations - Strong communication and presentation skills with diverse technical and business audiences - Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with shifting weekly priorities
