Role overview A digital media and entertainment company is hiring a Concept Artist to shape the visual first impression of every video: the thumbnail. The role sits at the intersection of storytelling, visual design, and audience psychology, with the mission of turning raw video concepts into single-frame compositions that grab attention instantly. It's a creative position embedded within a high-volume, high-stakes production environment where thumbnails directly influence viewership at global scale.

Responsibilities - Translate video pitches and creative concepts into clear, compelling thumbnail ideas before any footage is shot - Sketch or mock up the hook moments of a video, including the trap, the twist, and the stakes, in a single readable frame - Collaborate closely with the creative team to refine what gets shown to audiences - Iterate on concepts until each composition is instantly understandable without sound, title text, or context - Study current thumbnails across the platform and push for visual approaches that outperform what's already live

Requirements - A strong instinct for what makes a viewer stop scrolling and click - Portfolio or samples demonstrating clean, simple, high-clarity concept work - Sense for visual drama, stakes, and clickability rather than purely decorative illustration - Demonstrated habit of studying successful and unsuccessful thumbnail designs and forming opinions about why they work - Ability to communicate ideas visually at speed and incorporate feedback quickly

Nice to have - Experience designing for short-form or video-first media where composition competes in a crowded feed - Familiarity with A/B testing or iterating based on performance data
