Remote job
Senior Staff Product Manager, Browser Control Platform
Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior staff product leader is sought to own the foundational layer that lets external software and internal teams programmatically drive a major open-source browser. The position blends strategy and hands-on technical execution in a greenfield space, deciding what to build and in what order across internal product teams, third-party AI tools, and web developers who rely on the platform.
Responsibilities
- Own the shared platform layer and the reusable building blocks exposed to other software, ensuring they remain reliable and secure. - Drive forward an open browser-automation standard while building proprietary advantages beyond what the standard covers. - Design safety and consent controls so users can approve actions, observe automated behavior, and reclaim control at any time. - Define the strategy for integrating with major third-party AI assistants that users already rely on. - Serve multiple internal teams and outside tools through one unified foundation. - Set success metrics around cross-tool adoption, throughput, and sustained reliability and security.
Requirements
- Background as a product-minded engineer or a deeply technical product manager comfortable driving a technical product. - Experience in the developer space, with the range to also consider consumer and internal-platform audiences. - Comfort setting strategy amid ambiguity and maintaining a technical contract that other teams depend on. - Strong instincts around security, trust, and safe automation. - Ability to operate as a hands-on leader in a fast-moving environment.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with web standards bodies, browser automation protocols, or related emerging standards.
Benefits and work setup
- Performance-based bonus eligibility. - Generous retirement contributions with immediate full vesting, regardless of personal contributions. - Quarterly company-wide wellness days in addition to local public holidays and a personal birthday day off. - One-time home office stipend and an annual professional development budget. - Quarterly well-being stipend and a paid employee referral program. - Substantial paid parental leave, plus life, disability, and employee assistance benefits varying by country. - Fully remote role based in Germany; hiring range €103,000–€137,000 EUR.
