Data Analyst

Role overview

Responsibilities

- Identify short and long-term data needs and reporting strategies, with emphasis on student trajectory toward graduation - Conduct in-depth analyses and produce reports that support education-related decisions across the organization - Build and maintain dashboards, trackers, and visualizations for assessment and instructional data - Train and support teachers in data literacy and data-driven instructional practices - Collaborate with leadership on a school-wide data governance plan, including data management policies and procedures - Contribute to new school development efforts by gathering and presenting relevant data - Evaluate and recommend new systems, tools, and statistical methods as needs evolve

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Education, Computer Science, Math, or a related field - 2+ years of data extraction, analysis, and reporting experience in an educational setting - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite products - Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information responsibly - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently or as part of a team - Must be a Michigan resident and able to pass federal and state criminal background checks

Nice to have

- Experience with K-12 online learning environments - Familiarity with state assessment systems and school accountability reporting - Experience creating and maintaining structured datasets - Working knowledge of advanced Excel functions, including Power Query
