Product Owner

Role overview Support the technical sustainability of life insurance administration systems while driving modernization away from legacy mainframe platforms. As Product Owner, you will bridge business objectives and technical execution through backlog management, cross-functional collaboration, and disciplined delivery in a Scaled Agile environment.

Responsibilities - Partner with the Product Manager to define and communicate product vision and roadmap aligned to business goals, technical sustainability, and modernization outcomes. - Own backlog prioritization and refinement, drafting user stories with clear acceptance criteria and guiding sprint planning and Agile ceremonies. - Support life insurance conversion and modernization requirements, coordinating validation, testing, cutover, and operational readiness with attention to policy data and service continuity. - Translate business needs into actionable technical requirements in partnership with engineering and architecture teams. - Collaborate with UX/UI and engineering teams on usable, technically viable solutions, advocating CI/CD principles for quality and delivery speed. - Use data and success metrics to evaluate outcomes, communicate progress, surface gaps and risks, and adjust priorities accordingly.

Requirements - 5+ years as a Product Owner in a Scaled Agile (SAFe) or similar development environment. - Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, technical requirements and constraints, and UX/UI considerations. - Proven ability to translate business strategy into actionable technical tasks while managing complex, competing priorities. - Solid Agile and Scrum mastery including backlog prioritization, user story writing, acceptance criteria, and sprint planning. - Strong cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder negotiation, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills. - Advanced or fluent written and spoken English for direct interaction with U.S. stakeholders. - Based in LATAM.

Nice to have - Life insurance conversion experience moving policies from legacy mainframe platforms to current administration systems, including data mapping, reconciliation, testing, cutover, and post-conversion stabilization. - Financial services background with deep knowledge of life insurance administration platforms. - Hands-on SAFe experience using Azure DevOps or Jira. - Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field. - Relevant Product Owner certification such as PSPO, CSPO, or SAFe POPM.
