About this role

Role overview

A lead design role within the Growth collective of a digital bank, focused on shaping high-quality web experiences that help new and existing customers discover and choose the right products. The position blends strong visual and interaction craft with a data-informed, experimental mindset, working alongside product, engineering, data and research partners to solve ambiguous customer problems at scale.

Responsibilities

- Lead the design of high-quality web experiences that communicate the value of the product to new and existing customers. - Use quantitative and qualitative data to identify opportunities, understand behaviour and inform design decisions. - Translate customer and business problems into clear hypotheses, design experiments and iterate based on what is learned. - Apply exceptional visual and interaction craft while balancing customer needs, business goals and technical constraints. - Define compelling product visions beyond individual experiments, shaping a coherent long-term customer journey. - Partner closely with product, engineering, data and research, bringing people together around customer problems. - Mentor others, share work broadly and contribute to the growth and success of the wider design team.

Requirements

- Proven track record designing high-quality web experiences, supported by a portfolio showing strong visual and interaction craft. - Comfort using data to inform design decisions and a curiosity about customer behaviour. - Ability to tackle complex, ambiguous problems and balance competing constraints into simple, effective experiences. - Mindset that connects work across journeys and helps shape a longer-term product vision, not just individual screens. - Active interest in mentoring, giving feedback and lifting the wider design team.

Nice to have

- Interest in using AI to speed up ideation, analysis, prototyping or production workflows.

Benefits and work setup

- Salary range of £90,000 – £110,000 plus performance-linked incentive awards. - Hybrid from a London office or distributed working within the UK, with ad hoc London meetings. - Relocation support and visa sponsorship available. - Flexible working hours with a high-trust approach to how and when work is done. - Annual £1,000 learning budget for books, training and conferences. - Home-working setup provided, including a MacBook, with extra support for fully remote workers.
