About this role
Role overview Functional Lead and Scrum Master driving the delivery of enterprise Pega solutions from discovery through deployment. The role bridges business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to define requirements, align priorities, and run Agile delivery effectively in two-week sprints. It is a remote, U.S.-based contract position that blends hands-on business analysis with Scrum leadership on enterprise modernization work.
Responsibilities - Lead Pega product development from requirements gathering through solution delivery, partnering with stakeholders and end users to document user stories and clear acceptance criteria. - Prioritize product backlogs with product owners based on business value, risk, dependencies, and delivery timelines, and analyze business processes, workflows, and operational procedures for improvement. - Conduct process mapping, fit-gap analysis, and business transformation activities, acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams. - Serve as Scrum Master for Agile teams: facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives; remove impediments; and manage risks and cross-team dependencies. - Track sprint progress, drive accountability and continuous improvement, and ensure committed work lands on time. - Develop sprint summaries, executive status reports, release notes, and project updates; support UAT and stakeholder demos; and communicate status, risks, blockers, and mitigations to leadership and clients.
Requirements - 4+ years of experience in business analysis, requirements gathering, process mapping, fit-gap analysis, or business transformation initiatives. - 2+ years serving as a Scrum Master in an Agile environment. - 2+ years in business analysis, data analysis, consulting, or client-facing project delivery. - Demonstrated ability to define business questions, success metrics, reporting requirements, and product delivery objectives. - Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum frameworks, with proven leadership of projects, workstreams, and cross-functional teams. - Excellent organizational, prioritization, verbal, and written communication skills, plus strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
Nice to have - Experience supporting Pega implementations or enterprise software development initiatives. - Background in government, public sector, or highly regulated environments. - Familiarity with Agile tooling such as Jira or Azure DevOps. - Scrum Master certification such as CSM, PSM, or SAFe Scrum Master. - Experience supporting digital transformation or modernization programs. - Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
