About this role
Role overview A fully remote senior engineering role focused on designing, automating, and operating scalable cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines. The position combines deep platform expertise with a reliability mindset, covering infrastructure as code, container orchestration, and observability across AWS, GCP, or Azure environments.
Responsibilities - Architect, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, with a strong focus on infrastructure as code via Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation. - Build and optimise CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or CircleCI, including zero-downtime deployment strategies. - Manage Kubernetes clusters and container orchestration for microservices workloads, and automate operational processes where possible. - Configure and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, the ELK Stack, or Datadog, while optimising cost and resource utilisation. - Implement backup, disaster recovery, and security best practices including access controls, and troubleshoot production issues to improve performance and reliability.
Requirements - At least five years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or systems engineering. - Expert-level proficiency in at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes. - Proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible, or Pulumi) and in scripting with Bash, Python, or Go. - Solid understanding of monitoring and observability tooling, networking concepts, load balancing, DNS, and security fundamentals. - Familiarity with CI/CD platforms, version control workflows, and documenting architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures.
Nice to have - Experience with configuration management tools (Chef, Puppet, SaltStack), database administration, and backup strategies. - Exposure to security scanning, vulnerability management, and compliance or audit frameworks, plus open-source contributions to DevOps tooling.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote position with flexible working hours and unlimited holiday allowance. - Health insurance, modern cloud tooling, and a professional development budget covering certifications (such as AWS, GCP, or CKA) and conferences. - Collaborative engineering culture with opportunities to architect infrastructure from the ground up.
