About this role
Role overview A senior design leadership role guiding the product designers responsible for a financial software platform's core experiences. The position focuses on evolving how interfaces feel and behave in an era of AI-native, conversational, adaptive, and proactive interactions, partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and Design Systems to translate emerging interaction ideas into coherent, reusable patterns.
Responsibilities - Define and evolve the product's interaction philosophy, with particular emphasis on AI-native, conversational, adaptive, and proactive experience patterns. - Set a high bar for product quality across the Interfaces group, including mobile, dashboard, and agentic product surfaces, helping teams articulate why an experience feels right. - Lead, coach, and develop a team of product designers, fostering an environment where designers can take creative risks and consistently produce exceptional work. - Shape product strategy alongside Product and Engineering, bringing design into ambiguous problems early to help identify what to build. - Stay close to the work through critique, prototyping, exploration, and hands-on collaboration to push ambitious concepts into thoughtful, pragmatic experiences. - Elevate the broader design organization's craft and product thinking by sharing frameworks, perspectives, and emerging ideas.
Requirements - Strong product taste and judgment about how great software should behave and feel, with the ability to articulate why an interaction works or falls short. - A clear point of view on how AI is changing the relationship between people and software, with active curiosity about conversational, adaptive, and proactive interaction models. - Demonstrated success leading and developing product designers without becoming distant from the craft. - Ability to think about interactions as systems of patterns, architecture, behaviors, and principles rather than isolated screens. - Track record of operating independently, forming a perspective with incomplete information, and moving work forward with conviction balanced by pragmatism.
Nice to have - Experience designing AI-powered or consumer software, strong prototyping skills, close partnership with Design Systems, or deep motion and interaction expertise.
